A basic with one good idea.

The body is a fine seamless rib — no side seams, nothing to dig in, the kind of knit that sits close without gripping. Then the lace: a wide floral trim in exactly the same shade as the tank, running along the neckline and over the shoulders so it reads as texture rather than decoration. Tonal is the trick. In a contrast color it would look like lingerie; matched, it just looks considered.

Why It Found Its Way to Hinoki

We reach for a plain rib tank constantly and we're always slightly bored by it. This solves that for the price of a plain one — and both colors are good, the cabernet deep and wine-dark, the butter soft enough to wear as a neutral.

This tank comes in two sizes, S/M and M/L, and is cut close with plenty of stretch. The seamless rib is forgiving through the body.

I wear this on its own with denim in warm weather, then under an open cardigan or a blazer once it cools — the lace at the neckline is the only part that needs to show.
