Sculptural Buckle • Sand Leather • Handmade in Argentina
A slim sand leather belt with a cast starfish buckle.
The Hinoki Journal
A starfish, cast in metal, holding your jeans up.
The buckle is sculptural rather than printed or stamped — five textured arms in an antiqued dark finish, sitting proud of the strap so it catches light from the side. The leather underneath is a pale sand, slim at just under two inches, and deliberately plain to let the buckle be the whole event. Vegetable-tanned Argentinian leather, so it warms and softens with wear.
Why It Found Its Way to Hinoki
Novelty buckles usually look like novelty buckles. This one is genuinely well cast, and the pale leather keeps it on the right side of quiet — it reads as something found on a trip rather than bought for a theme.

✦ Amy's Styling Tip
White linen or pale denim, and nothing else competing — the buckle needs a quiet background to read properly. It's the belt I'd pack for somewhere warm.
Hinoki Care Suggestions
Wipe clean with a dry cloth and condition occasionally. Polish the buckle gently with a soft cloth.
About the Maker
ADA Collection makes leather belts by hand in Argentina, using vegetable-tanned, chromium-free hides.
We were drawn to ADA because a well-made belt outlasts almost everything else in a wardrobe. It's exactly the kind of quiet, made-to-last piece we love bringing to our Foragers.
