Cotton voile is the lightest weight cotton comes in — fine, slightly open, and it moves like nothing. Printed here with a small repeating rose motif on cream, drawn from the Indian block prints Sonmer works from, dense enough to read as pattern from a distance and as individual flowers up close. The cut is straight and easy through the body, the full sleeves gather into a small buttoned cuff, and the front closes with mother-of-pearl buttons that catch the light.

Why It Found Its Way to Hinoki

Voile this fine is a warm-weather fabric that somehow works all year — alone in August, under a knit in November. The mother-of-pearl is the detail that gives it away as a better blouse than it first appears.

Hinoki Fit Notes

Cut straight through the body and true to size. Voile is fine enough to be slightly sheer — most will want a camisole underneath.

Tucked into denim shorts in summer, half-tucked into a wide trouser once it cools. The rose is soft enough to sit against cream, camel and brown rather than fighting them.

Hinoki Care Suggestions

Machine wash cold on gentle and hang to dry. Voile creases easily — press on low while slightly damp. Take care with the buttons; mother-of-pearl is natural shell and will chip if knocked.
